Adults And Preschooler Stuff (Also A Short Review Of Bluey)

Several forms of entertainment face scrutiny from different groups of people. It's inevitable. There will always be elitists in any fanbase known to man. People who think that their favorite or preferred genre of music or movie or whatever is the best, and anything that is inferior, taboo, or perceived as "lame" is torn to shreds. It's to the point that anyone who likes whatever is perceived as "uncool" is scrutinized just for liking something. One of the biggest examples of something that gets scrutinized for being lame or stupid is anything aimed at the preschool audience, particularly preschool shows. And for good reason. I mean, as an adult, we like to enjoy things that cater to a more adult demographic. Instead of watching something on Nick Jr, adults are way more likely to put on "Game of Thrones" or "The Office". However, we cannot ignore the group of adults who actually do enjoy shows aimed at a younger audience. Some of these peo...

A Modern Cartoon And Animation Rant

Animation has continued to be a dominant force in movies and television for decades. It's an art form that is understood by many people, but adored and appreciated at the same time. Whether you prefer computer generated imagery or hand drawn animation or whatever else, there is something in animation for everyone. However, I've been thinking a lot about current animation recently, and about how as the process of making animated media is getting better, the writing has become worse. It's been like that for years, but it's really been the last couple of decades where I think particular elements in animation have declined. What elements are these? It has to do with the writing and the humor that is often times utilized, and also it seems like animation has been dulled down to cater more to children than to a wide variety of people. If you do a comparison of an animated movie from the 1990's and an animated movie from today, you'll see a bevvy of differences that ta...

Top 10 BEST Episodes Of 101 DALMATIAN STREET Season 1

The first season of "101 Dalmatian Street" has concluded, and of course, like most shows there were a lot of great episodes that made it up. I've already done a list of some of the worst moments from "101 Dalmatian Street", but I have yet to go into full detail about the episodes I feel are the best. All of the rules I stated in the previous list apply here as well, but I'd also like to elaborate more on one of them. This is a subjective list, meaning that these are episodes that I liked, not the ones that are the most popular. A lot of people think that the most popular episodes of any show are the absolute best that a series has to offer. That's not entirety true, as I have found numerous episodes that aren't as highly praised that are worth recommending, some of which you'll see on this list. Let us begin the countdown of the ten best episodes, but of course, before we start, here are five honorable mentions... ------------------------------- ...

Top 5 WORST Episodes Of 101 DALMATIAN STREET Season 1

The first season of "101 Dalmatian Street" has concluded. For many fans, it feels like very little time has passed since they watched the first episode. Now, here we are a year after the show's premiere and well over a year since the show was announced. As with anything, there are good episodes and bad episodes that have been made. The good episodes definitely please fans as they are representative of the awesome side of "101 Dalmatian Street". There are OTHER episodes, however, that showcase that this series is not perfect by any means. There are even episodes that absolutely suck, and aren't even worthy of being acknowledged. This is a list of the episodes that I disliked the most. First off, one rule I've set is that the season finale, "The De Vil Wears Puppies", is not on this list. Neither are "Dante's Inferno" and "Better The De Vil You Know" for that matter. I don't think that these episodes should be placed o...

Problems With 101 DALMATIAN STREET

NOTE: This was originally posted in February 2020.  Let's get this statement out of the way: I'm not feeling as passionate about "101 Dalmatian Street" as of late. Yeah, I guess this will come as a shocker to some people since I have been enthusiastic about this show for the past year. I've made several journals about "101 Dalmatian Street" where I've talked about the episodes. I've really enjoyed a lot of the characters, especially Da Vinci, Dolly, Summer, Dylan, and Dante. But I've got to be honest here folks. This show has sort of worn out its welcome a little bit, and therefore things have happened as far as the show is concerned that have made me less passionate about it. Recently, the season finale episode, entitled "The Devil Wears Puppies" aired out in the UK, and it was revealed that Cruella De Vil would have a prominent role as the main villain. I think this is the biggest issue I have that has been holding me back from th...

LADY AND THE TRAMP 2019 | Movie Review

This review is something different than that as I am not only reviewing a movie which was not set for a theatrical release, but signifies a bit of a landmark in the history of Disney. As most are probably cognizant of by now, Disney+ made its debut as a streaming service comparable to that of Netflix and Hulu. While I don't buy into the whole streaming thing completely, Disney+ is alluring to me for many reasons. Firstly, it's Disney, so I'm along for the ride no matter what. Secondly, there are landmark things taking place via this new service. Not only is one of the debut films to be available for viewing a remake of a classic Disney property and the first remake to debut exclusively through Disney+, but with this we finally have a remake of one of my personal favorite movies of all time, "Lady And The Tramp". If you aren't aware of my backstory, I'm a lifelong fan of this franchise, having seen the original and its DTV sequel a lot as a child but not ge...

LADY AND THE TRAMP 2 vs. THE LION KING 2

During the 2000's, Disney was in a predicament as far as their animation studio was concerned. After the Renaissance era, the films started to become less ambitious while other branches of Disney started heavily focusing on other projects involving the films and franchises that put them on the map. These were the Disney sequels, lasting from 1994 to 2008, even though the Disney sequels really came through the woodwork in the 2000's. Noted as one of the darker eras in Disney history, the Disney sequels still get a bad wrap. There are various reasons as to why these movies are heavily disliked, ranging from them being an unnecessary and haphazard extension of their source material, to them being made out of necessity for a younger audience, to the fact that they just don't sit well compared to Walt's original vision. But, of course, everyone has their preferences on which Disney sequels are the absolute best. For me, that honor goes to "Lady And The Tramp 2: Scamp...

What Do I Think Of 101 DALMATIAN STREET?

NOTE: This was originally posted in April 2019. Disney's Television Animation division is quite interesting to say the least. While it does borrow from some of its properties in their movies canon like "The Lion King" and "The Jungle Book", as well as much of their Disney Princess catalog, Disney also has lots of passionate animators working on cartoons for the small screen that have interesting and unique synopsises and premises with hopes of these being fleshed out into entire series of episodes that show stronger and weaker points. Cartoons made for Toon Disney, Disney Channel, and in more recent times Disney XD and Disney Junior, were essentially able to be put up against other competing networks known for cartoons, Nick and Cartoon Network being prominent examples. All of Disney's networks have placed their focus on this original content at various points in time, major examples being "Kim Possible" and "American Dragon: Jake Long" f...
